School or library visit
Finding Inspiration in fun, realism and a little magic
I am available for school visits, to both Primary and Secondary Schools. As a local author with an important life story to tell, I offer this freely.
What is a school or library visit from Witch Queen Bee, author all about ?
It’s about role play, fun, drama, a little magic, a real life miracle and a lot of confidence building.
Initially, I start by telling students, the real life experience, of a ten year old girl who had a serious road accident. How she wasn’t expected to live, and her struggle to recover.
Why she was run over and what has to be achieved for road safety.
Followed by: the fun part …
Five pupils are chosen, usually from a wave of frantic hands up offers … Everyone wants to play the bullies, Andy Lazar and Chris Beever. I always ask for the smallest boy in the class to be Jimmy. The loveable, endearing character of Jimmy Rockwood steps in to rescue and support, the bullies victim, new girl, Lieve. The fifth part, is for Jimmy’s best friend Farid who always states the obvious. Farid has no sense of humour, he is funny without knowing it. It’s a lot of fun, a great learning experience and a real confidence booster.
teachers please note, a school visit is usually two hours. This involves, one and half hours between story telling and role play followed by questions and feedback. Please allow two hours in your precious school schedule, if it goes over thats fine by me but I have timed each section to suit your school timetable.
I love what I do and if my story saves one child’s life, or makes each child more aware, then every second of my story is worth it.
