About the author
Christine Frances Perry born in Salford, Lancashire. After a lifetime of moving several times around the world, I have finally settled in Astley, which is in the borough of Wigan with a Manchester postcode. I know you couldn’t write it lol.
As a ten-year child I was involved in a very bad road traffic accident on lIttleton Road, Salford, culminating in multiple broken bones. My right ear was stitched back on and the worst was a serious brain injury. My parents were told if I ever regained consciousness I would be a cabbage – their exact words. After being in a coma for fourteen weeks, I did wake up and started to recover. I had to learn to walk again and suffered bouts of fainting for several years. During my recovery period, I couldn’t hold a pen or a cup, my brain wasn’t sending the right messages. All I could do was read, my brother and sister would take it in turn to hold a book and turn the pages when my eyes gave the indication.
The brain is a miracle all on its own and I did recover. I told my mum at the time “When I am grown up I want to write books for adults to enjoy and pass down to their children.” I am so pleased that finally I have achieved that goal, after a life time of working 🙂
